Opportunity Quilt

The Opportunity Quilt is an annual tradition that showcases the collective talent and collaborative spirit of the Fallbrook Quilt Guild. Each year, the Design and Construct Committee selects a pattern and coordinates the production process with volunteer members who assist with piecing, quilting, and finishing. On occasion, the fundraiser features a completed quilt generously donated by an individual member. The Guild proudly displays and markets the finished masterpiece at various venues and public events throughout Southern California.

General membership participation is vital to this tradition, and all members are encouraged to support the initiative by purchasing or distributing raffle tickets ahead of the drawing. Proceeds from the raffle ticket sales support our community with handmade quilts, educational opportunities, and local student scholarships.

The FY26-27 Opportunity Quilt, titled "On Point Floral Medallion," measures 90" x 100" and stands as a premier example of the community's craftsmanship. This stunning piece was started and hand-appliquéd by Nora Fusco, finished by Tricia Voight, and quilted by Betsy Shirkey. The binding was completed by the Sewing Sisters Friendship Group, and the sleeve was attached by Dixie Johns. The official drawing for this community masterpiece is scheduled for June 3, 2027.
